SUSAN DEANE HUNTER has focused her practice on estate planning for more than 20 years, representing a variety of estate planning, estate administration and business planning clients. She is the founder and principal of the Law Offices of Susan Deane Hunter, established in 2016. Prior to opening her own firm, she was an attorney at various boutique estate law firms.

ESTATE PLANNING
Susan’s estate planning practice includes the preparation of Wills, Financial and Healthcare Powers of Attorney, Living Wills, Revocable (Living) Trusts, Special Need Trusts and Irrevocable Trusts. She has experience in advising clients how to title their assets in the manner best suited to achieve their estate planning objectives.

SPECIAL NEEDS
Susan has a special passion for advising and planning for individuals and parents of children with special needs. Special care needs to be taken in these situations to ensure that children are provided for in a manner that doesn’t cause the loss of governmental benefits such as medicaid and SSI.

PROBATE
In addition to estate planning, Susan has a great deal of experience in estate and trust administration and probate. She provides legal advice and guidance to executors, trustees and beneficiaries. Estate and trust administration can be overwhelming for executors and trustees, especially those who have recently lost a loved one. Susan has expertise in collecting and distributing assets, preparing Pennsylvania Inheritance Tax and Federal Gift and Federal Estate Tax Returns. Her calm and reassuring presence helps her clients during stressful times.

EDUCATION/MEMBERSHIP
Susan graduated cum laude from Temple University with a B.A. in Philosophy. She earned her J.D. degree from Widener University School of Law and went on to earn an Estate Planning Certificate and an LL.M in Taxation from Temple University School of Law. She is a member of the Pennsylvania and New Jersey Bars, the Pennsylvania Bar Association, and the Montgomery Bar Association. She is also a member and past president of the Montgomery County Estate Planning Council.

In her free time, she loves to spend time with her husband and children hiking. biking, and skiing.
